Yesterday on IGN.com, it was reported that this summer, Nintendo will be putting multiple games up on the 3DS eShop that they call “8-bit Summer”. There will be 6 Nintendo titles, and two SEGA titles, all from the 8-bit era. They will be putting up the games periodically. The Legend of Zelda (#1), originally for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), will be one of the titles. List and dates below.
July 5: The Legend of Zelda (NES) “3DS Ambassadors will be able to upgrade to this new version from their previously downloaded freebie editions from last year, and doing so will activate Restore Point functionality (and a nicer Home Menu icon) [IGN].“
July 12: Kirby’s Pinball Land (Game Boy) & The Sword of Hope II (Game Boy)
July 19: Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters (Game Boy) & Tumblepop (Game Boy)
July 26: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy)
NOT YET DATED: Sonic Blast (Game Gear) & Sonic Labyrinth (Game Gear)
So how do YOU feel about these games coming to the 3DS eShop? Personally, if I were rich, I would buy all of these titles when they’re released, but I’m not, so we’ll see… I know that this will make nintendo fans around the world ecstatic, I am always waiting for new things to come ti the eShop. It was great when Link’s Awakening was put there, and it will be great when Zelda (1) is too.
