I’ve looked on some websites for what the Wii U will be like. Here are some rumors on how much the Wii U may cost.
Manufacuring cost (including controller) is predicted to be around $180.
Controllers total bill of materials won’t cost any more than $50.
Wii U will be no less than $300 when launched.
NFC capabilities for each Wii U controller costs no more than $5 to implement.
Price of NFC implemetation in mobile devices is expected to fall below $1 in the future.
Microsoft’s Kinect costs $56 after taking it apart
The Wii U’s controller is expected to be slightly less than what a Kinect costs.
Personally, I have no idea what an NFC is. Keep in mind that this hasn’t been confirmed by Nintendo yet. I don’t think a Wii U will be over $300. I don’t know anything for Europe, Australia, or Asia yet.
