This week’s Featured Fan Art is a special piece of work. The Trials of Spirit is a series of artwork by Ferisae which depicts Skyward Sword Link who went through the four trials of the Goddesses. In each picture she depicted Link with several different expressions for each element: Power, Wisdom, and Courage. In the final picture she depicts Link with eerie yet powerful eyes as well as the crest of the Triforce at his collarbone.
This week’s Featured Fan Art comes to you from the very talented teralilac. What really captivates me about this image is the almost gleeful look of hatred on Dark Link’s face, and the overall mood of the photo.
This week’s fan art comes from zerochan.net, and features a plethora of Links to fawn over. Which one is your favorite? Sound off in the comments below! (Mine? Tie between the boyishly playful Young Link of OoT, and the dark and brooding TP Link.)

This week’s Featured Fan Art is a Majora’s Mask fan art called “Terrible Fate” made by uniqueLegend (also known as EternalLegend). The artwork depicts the Happy Mask Salesman appearing behind Deku Link, saying that Link met a terrible fate.
What I like about the artwork is how much detail that she put into the picture. The expressions on each of the masks are well done and the expression of Link is well done too. The picture also looks almost like a real painting.
This week’s Featured Spotlight is another Link picture, but this time it is done by the artist sakimichan. Sakimichan is one of the artists I look up to on DeviantART due to her level of skill when it comes to digital painting. Her pictures are so vibrant and full of life, making it enjoyable to see a new piece of work submitted.
About the Link picture in general, it feels, to me, that Link seems a little cocky when he’s fighting some monster off the painting. His eyes are serious, but one cannot shake off the small smirk that Link has on his face. Next to him his a tiny little fairy, perhaps Navi? The leather straps that hold his sword in place look almost real and sakimichan put a lot of special attention to his chain mail shirt.
I also noticed that the artist seemed to have combined two Links into one single Link, Twilight Princess (Wii) Link with Ocarina of Time Link. Though the hair style and the clothing resemble Twilight Princess Link, the hair color and the hand that holds the Master Sword are both that of Ocarina of Time Link. Not only that, the fairy companion that flys around with them is reminiscent of Navi; whether or not it is actually the little sprite is unknown.
Kudos to you, sakimichan! You have given us a fantasic piece of work to look at.
If you want to see the full image, you can see so below. Be sure to favorite her work on DeviantART as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Today’s Featured Fan Art is Link by JoshSummana from DeviantART.
What I like about the art is how beautiful they made Link look. He seems to look far more elegant than what official artwork make him look. Not only that, but the painting style of the portrait makes it seem more like an actual painting than a digital painting. The artist even includes Navi as the light source in the painting.
The artist states that when he drew Link, he didn’t want to draw him entirely masculine, as he has always seen Link more as a beautiful young man. Not only that, he mentions that he has seen a variety of women cosplay as Link as well.

This week’s Featured Fan Art is a little more on the sweet side of things.
An artist by the name of cakecrumbs has made an amazing replica of a Furnix… from cake! This Furnix Cake stand about 11 inches tall and has a wingspan of 9 inches. The artist states it took five days of work to create this beautiful cake due to making the wireframe as well as repairing all the broken pieces and coloring the fondant.
Kudos to you, cakecrumbs! You’ve made an amazing cake!
Our Featured Fan Art this week is “The Wind is Blowing” by thelaserhawk. As Link fights Ganondorf in the now drowning Hyrule, he reflects one of Zelda’s Light Arrows off his shield, stuns the Evil King, and then proceeds to parry and thrust his sword into the head of Ganondorf.

This week’s Featured Fan Art is by the user Gabbi entitled “Link’s Last Battle”. It depicts Link in a stance, readying his sword to fight against the Demon King, Demise.
What I like is how vibrant the art is. The detail on Link is amazing, like with his hair. The lightning in the background is good for ambient light. It’s almost as if Link is readying to finish off Demise.

What I like about this piece is the amount of detail put into the piece. Not raw detail, like individual fibers on clothing and what have you, but the detail and time put into this art piece to match the style of Skyward Sword. Moldarach looks amazing in the pic and menacing. Link looks amazing in the pic and the artist even went ahead and designed the shield and adding a little affect to the spin attack.
I think it’s an amazing piece of work and you should definitely favorite it!
